Traditional English Lemon Curd Made with Free Range Eggs
The Bay Tree’s Very Lemon Curd is indeed just that - very lemony. This classic English citrus curd—winner of a Great Taste Award in 2013— is made with free range eggs, lots of fresh lemon juice, sugar and butter resulting in a silky, unctuous spread that you'll want to put on everything (or eat straight out of the jar).
Rich, creamy and tart, it is the perfect accompaniment for scones, toast or, to use in lemon meringue pie. Substitute lemon curd for jelly in a Swiss Roll or add some to a buttercream frosting for a layer cake. We love making Pavolva using this lemon curd in place of the whipped cream.
This not-too-tart curd is so good, it has even been recognized by Country Living and an essential pantry ingredient.
