Perhaps the most delightful black tea on Earth review by Guy on 6/13/2016Rating
I have tried, and hardly recommend a total of about 10 different Mariage Freres teas. But my all-time favorite black tea is Wedding Imperial. It has a depth and complexity of flavor that delights whether enjoyed hot or iced.
I make a concentrate of Green, Pu Erh and Wu Long teas and add Wedding Imperial to the mix for flavor, add a little (to taste) of this concentrate to a glass and fill with water and ice. To make the concentrate I use 2 tablespoons of each and steep in 20-24 ounce teapot for 15 minutes or so. I get several days worth of the healthy concentrate, and the flavor of the Wedding Imperial still comes through!
The 6 ounce refills available here at Market Hall will also save money compared to the tins that are more commonly available.
Most highly recommended!
Exotic, But Caution–Both Flavored and Scented. review by Vanessa on 6/12/2016Rating
Pros: Deep, rich, dark, exotic tastes of tobacco, vanilla, and caramel all in one beautiful cup of tea. I love it iced in summer.
Cons: I wanted to branch out from this brand's French Breakfast tea–my all time favorite–and to indulge in a tea that had stronger vanilla, caramel, and chocolate notes. But buy with caution if you are a daily consumer of their French Breakfast and are expecting the same base and a variety flavoring. This tea is not only more strongly flavored, but also very strongly scented–a characteristic of the tea I was not expecting. It leaves some sort of coating on the tongue that the French Breakfast does not, and I am chalking that up to the scenting of the tea. I have to mix one part to two parts French Breakfast to avoid the perfume type aftertaste.
Great Gift and some for Me! review by Natalia on 6/12/2016Rating
We tried this tea at the Keetsa Mattress store and got more excited from finding this tea than buying a new mattress! :) Purchased for a friend's wedding anniversary gift (the friends are so bonded by this tea! :) , but that was just a reason to get some for us! :))

My number one favorite tea! review by Bree on 6/5/2016Rating
I have a cupboard stocked FULL of tea and I say to my husband, "Oooh, I found a place that sells Wedding Imperial! Kinda spendy, but...." My husband opens the tea cupboard and says, "Really? You need more tea?" and I say, "It's Wedding Imperial!!!" Now, truth be told, he loves this particular tea too and so I know that he understands my desire to restock this delicious tea. I have been missing it for a loooong time now. It is the tea that I will chose 9 times out of 10, so really I should probably just give away all my other teas and stock the entire cabinet with this one!"
So, I should probably say something about how it tastes... It's got chocolate and caramel overtones, which I was skeptical of until that first taste and then I was hooked! Decadent, and yet still cozy, smooth, rich, mellow. YUM!
I also love Pleine Lune and Earl Grey French Blue by Mariage Freres!
A Favorite! review by Nancy on 6/5/2016Rating
I am a huge tea lover with dozens of teas in my cupboard! Don't ask me how many dozens! But this is one of the tops! Very smooth, elegant, delicious!
One of my favorites review by Jude on 6/5/2016Rating
So hard to determine a favorite among Mariage Frères teas, Marco Polo, of course, Earl Grey French Blue or all but Wedding Imperial is at the top of my list.
It does not disappoint so try it and savor.
What else is there to say? review by Debbie on 4/11/2015Rating
Read the reviews ... it's all true. Chocolatey, caramelly, decadent, yet subtle and refreshing. Mariage Freres is truly the best tea brand in the world and Wedding Imperial is something special.
Tea Time is Anytime with Mariage Frères review by Judy Stec on 6/13/2013Rating
Have been sipping Mariage Frères teas for over 20 years. Obviously, I love them. Wedding Imperial has a light, refreshing bouquet and taste perfect for afternoon tea even in our sultry South Florida summers. With the refills, it is easy to replenish and enjoy this wonderful tea.
To Be Experiened review by Martine Claire on 5/4/2013Rating
The sophistication and elegance we have come to expect from Mariage Freres captured in a cup of tea.
Turns the afternoon into a decadent experience.
Warning! review by Judie on 11/14/2012Rating
After you have had this miraculous blend, there is the real risk you may desert the rest of the teas in your cupboard! The slight sweetness combined with the ethereal hints of caramel & chocolate make for a cup that is hard to match.
Whenever I serve this to friends it opens a lively discussion of just what it reminds one of. You'll find you'll want to inhale it before sipping to get the full pleasure of the cup.
I still order other flavors, just to keep my hand in, but really, Wedding Imperial outshines them all in my humble opinion.

It's Good review by Hong Yi on 8/24/2011Rating
when I heard about Wedding Imperial, I tought it's taste is like flower. But, after I tried, it's like caramel things. And, It's taste better with milk and cookies.
The best tea I've ever tasted review by Teresa P on 8/23/2011Rating
I tried a tin of Wedding Imperial on a whim and with low expectations. Any chocolate tea I had ever tried previously either tasted too much like coconut, was too sweet, or had a chemical flavor. This tea tastes of chocolate and caramel, and is an entirely divine combination. I used to alternate this with Esprit de Noel during the winter, but find that it's the tea I prefer to drink every afternoon, year-round.
Outstanding ! review by Karen on 9/30/2010Rating
Wedding Imperial has for many years, been one of my favorite teas. Full rich flavor with elegant & subtle caramel/chocolate notes. Great black or with milk.
MF have mastered the art of blending and flavoring tea. If you have tried and been disappointed with flavored teas-you haven't tried Mariage Freres !
If you're a chocolate lover, this tea is for you review by Nora Wade on 9/28/2010Rating
I've bought several different flavors of Mariage Freres tea over the years but I think this one is my favorite. I love chocolate so I was intrigued by the description of "notes of chocolate and caramel". I was not disappointed - the aroma is fantastic and the tea has a very smooth taste. You really don't need any sweetener. I highly recommend this tea.
