This unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa (also called alkalized cocoa) has been treated with alkali to reduce bitterness and acidity, resulting in a cocoa with dark color and deep, mellow chocolatey flavor. We love the rich, fudgy flavor that Droste Cocoa Powder gives our chocolate cakes, brownies, cookies and frostings, and it really delivers that smooth, satisfying sip that we look for in hot chocolate.
To make a delicious hot chocolate, create a paste with a few tablespoons of cocoa, a few teaspoons of sugar and a small amount of milk or water. Then whisk in hot milk to create a cup of gorgeous, frothy hot cocoa.
