Hungarian Goathorn Peppers Packed in Olive Oil
Hungarian Goathorns are an heirloom pepper variety that pack a fruity heat. Mama Lil’s sources their peppers from Washington’s Yakima Valley, after which they are cut and packed in olive oil infused with garlic and a secret blend of savory spices. We love these peppers for their mellow heat, but also for their firm crunch similar to fresh peppers.
Ingredients: peppers, non-gmo expeller pressed canola oil, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt, garlic, spices. Refrigerate after opening.
How to use
Tuck these sliced peppers into sandwiches, perk up pizzas or serve them as an antipasto alongside charcuterie. For a shortcut to spicy aioli, dice and whisk with garlic and mayonnaise. Or, make a dip with some zip by blitzing Mama Lil’s Original Mildly Spicy Peppers with Greek yogurt and feta in a food processor until smooth.
About the producer
Inspired by his mother Lil’s pickled pepper recipe, Howard Lev started batching preserved Hungarian Goathorn peppers inside a church basement in the early 1990s. In the decades since, Mama Lil’s has upgraded their facilities, but continues to source their peppers, as well as all of their ingredients, from local farms in Yakima Valley, Washington.
