Hoisin Sauce from Tân Tân

Based on the family restaurant’s recipe, Tân Tân Vietnamese Hoisin Sauce is bold, nuanced and versatile. While some commercial jars of hoisin tend to be cloying or simply lack the complexity we love about the fermented soybean sauce, Tân Tân’s version is rich with umami and strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tangy with lingering notes of ginger, garlic and licorice. It’s also certified vegan and gluten free.

How to use

Great as both an ingredient and finishing sauce, there’s little that Tân Tân Hoisin Sauce wouldn’t improve. Use it as a sweet-and-savory glaze for sticky chicken wings or add a spoonful to stews to bump up the umami. An irreplaceable condiment for pho, Tân Tân Hoisin Sauce is also delicious drizzled over roasted eggplant, pan-fried tofu or as dipping sauce for dumplings.

Tân Tân, which means “new beginnings,” is a family-run business born out of Tân Tân Café & Delicatessen in Beaverton, Oregon. In 2017, Lisa Tran launched the wholesale sauce brand, based on the beloved recipes served at her family's Vietnamese restaurant for more than 20 years.
