Spaghetti Nero di Seppia Pasta from Italy

Add some drama to your dinner! The dough for this special spaghetti is kneaded with fresh nero di seppia, or squid ink, for deep black color. We love the contrast of this dark squid ink spaghetti with white calamari or clams, golden sautéed garlic and a sprinkle of bright green parsley. Squid Ink Tonnarelli is also wonderful — and colorful — with fresh tomato sauce and your seafood of choice.

About the Producer

In 1981, Nicolina Peduzzi decided to revive the pastificio (pasta factory) her father had started 50 years earlier in a small town in Abruzzo, Italy. More family members joined the business, which quickly grew into one of the most extensive artisanal pasta lines in Italy. Nicolina, the matriarch, remains the keeper of artisan core values, which she demonstrates personally at every incredible meal she cooks for the family. (And in fact, in the Peduzzi family, many important business decisions are made over a heaping dish of spaghetti!) It is these wonderful meals and moments shared at the family table that ensure that Rustichella d’Abruzzo will continue to maintain high levels of integrity, professionalism and passion for quality.

The best squid ink pasta!

Sweet but earthy and a bit chewy as it should be. Great with shrimp with lemon cream sauce or fresh clam sauce (white or red) or mixed shellfish with red sauce mixed with fish stock, or just toss with smoked mussels and a bit of Dijon mustard. No other brand is as good.
