Taralli are flaky, ring-shaped crackers popular throughout the southern Italian region of Puglia. These taralli get their rich brown color from Puglia’s famous toasted wheat, or grano arso, known for its distinctly smoky and nutty character. Grano arso’s origins are rooted in the region’s ancient history of peasant cuisine, when wealthy landowners allowed the poor residents to pick over remnants of burned wheat fields to make their own flour. Once a sign of difficult times, grano arso has since become a proud symbol of resilience.
Taralli are an essential component of an aperitivo (a drink and a snack) in the south of Italy. Set out a bowl of Toasted Wheat Taralli alongside sliced salumi, Italian olives, pickled vegetables and your favorite bottle of wine.

I LOVE all the Taralli crackers & until I met this one, the onion/raisin one was my fav :) Keep em coming!! JUST THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I look high and low for really good taralli that are also very clean in terms of ingredients. Quite hard to find, even among top Italian brands. These fit the bill. I love fennelly ones but the nuttiness in these is a nice change. I hope MH has enough to keep taralli lovers supplied.
